Favorite Things : Daily Gratitude Journal

As a busy mom juggling the chaos of family, work, and life, I have tried and failed multiple times over the years at starting a gratitude practice. Journaling was too time-consuming for me. Meditation is amazing, but I have trouble being consistent, and trying to find a time when our house is quiet enough can be a challenge. So of course, The Five Minute Journal caught my attention right away - I have five minutes! And now it’s become one of my favorite daily self-care rituals.

Every morning and night, I take a moment to reflect on the things that I’m thankful for. Whether it's my son's infectious laughter, the warmth of a cozy fire, the ability to catch up with a friend, or sometimes, just coffee! These moments of gratitude set the tone for a fantastic day and help me unwind at night.

Have you been thinking about ways to integrate a gratitude practice into your daily habits? Since November is the month of Thanksgiving, it’s a perfect time! Here are a few reasons I love my Five Minute gratitude journal:

  • Positive Beginnings: Starting my day with gratitude flips the script on any potential (or likely - lol) morning chaos. Instead of diving into the day's to-do list, I focus on the small wins and blessings, giving me a positive perspective that lasts throughout the day.

  • Mindful Moments: In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to overlook the little joys. The journal keeps me present, helping me appreciate the beauty in each moment – even the messy, glitter-filled ones.

  • Calming Closure: As the day winds down, jotting down a few things I'm thankful for provides a calming closure. It's like a cozy blanket for my mind, creating a peaceful transition from a busy day to a restful night.

  • Gratitude is Contagious: Sharing my gratitude discoveries with my family sparks conversations and brings us closer, creating a ripple effect of positivity in our home.

  • Memories in the Making: Parties are about creating memories, right? Well, so is gratitude journaling. It's like preserving snippets of joy and thankfulness, creating a beautiful collection of memories that I can revisit whenever I need a pick-me-up.

Whether it's through a dedicated journal or simply pausing to appreciate life's little treasures, let's sprinkle our days with thankfulness. Trust me, it's the ultimate party favor for a joy-filled life! Here's to a November full of gratitude, giggles, and giving thanks!
