Black Friday Gift Guide : Five and Up
Dinosaur Flexible Play Tracks Set: Have and love - great gift for your dinosaur-obsessed kiddo! There is an endless amount of ways to set up the track so they can let their imagination go wild. This has been a hit at our house during playdates, too!
MAGNA-TILES with Storage Bin Set: I think probably anyone who has these would tell you they are well worth the price! Appropriate for younger than 5 and fun and interesting enough for parents! We love creating “dominos” from them as well as robots, buildings, and “Minecraft structures”.
Crystal Mining Kit: Alex has had these before, and is asking for them again. They provided hours of fun digging and examining, and then we reused by burying in some kinetic sand and having “gem hunts”. Highly recommend!
Alien Slime Science Lab: In my cart! Anything slime + science is a big winner in our house. If you buy this as a gift for someone else’s kids, you may want to consider adding a plastic tablecloth or a tray to contain the mess.
3D Printing Pen: This is SO cool! I may wait one more year before buying it, but I think it would be a hit. It’s designed with no hot parts and comes with everything you need to get started. Great present for aspiring artists and creators!
Retro Rail Twiler: This one would had never been on my radar, but Alex found my old one this year at my parent’s house, and couldn’t put it down. Good old fashioned fun, and perfect for a stocking stuffer!
PicasoTiles Pixel Magnetic Cubes: Another gift in my cart (don’t tell!). I envision these being great for home and for travel. I always love to have smaller toys I can throw in Alex’s suitcase that I know will entertain him and use his imagination - and think these fit the bill!
Snap Circuits Light Exploration Kit: We have and love the regular snap circuits kit. This box says 8 and up but I think 5-6 is appropriate if you have adult supervision. No tools are needed, and there are over 150 projects to make, adding up to hours of fun!
Indoor Snowballs: Cold and snowy but need to get some energy out? These are fun for the whole family! We’ve had a set for years and they never get old. Stash any breakables and then let the snowball fight and belly laughs ensue!
Learning Resources MathLink Cubes: Another tried and true classic! Give the gift of learning while having fun. We bought these when Alex was obsessed with the show “Number Blocks” (which BTW if you’ve never seen, is definitely worth watching!). They were his go-to toy for months on end, and were also great for travelling.
